I’m Kevin Rye; a caricature artist and I love my work!
My passion is creating smiles and laughter using a marker pen, paper and the skills developed after many years of practice. I'm also skilled with the paintbrush creating humorous acrylic paintings.
As a kid the long summer holidays were spent producing chalk drawings on street pavements and watching them get washed away with the rain. Art classes were the best part of my school years. I studied and practised many styles of art and I've not stopped learning and practising.
I've been a performer and entertainer for many years with experience of stage acting. I've painted large backcloths and scenery for stage productions. I've also produced many lighthearted cartoon illustrations for various publications. I also appeared in an early episode of Casualty - although so have most Bristolians. In between my drawing, painting and acting assignments I did other professional work with 32 years in the Civil Service where I acquired and refined many skills that I utilise in the running of my successful caricature business.
I was born in Bristol and lived there for a great many years. More recently I moved, together with my wife, Jill, to Seaton, East Devon. I love to draw, paint, read, write, watch films and TV, and listen to and play music (guitar and ukulele).
